Pokhara, Nepal: Coming Back down to earth

Coming down from the trip was bittersweet. On one hand, we were looking ahead to being back in ‘civilization’…aka, appropriate coffee, hot showers as well as food other than noodles as well as lentils. On the other hand, we were unfortunate to state goodbye to the fresh air, peacefulness as well as serenity of the Himalayas, something only nature as well as rural areas can provide.

We completed off our trip in the town of Jomsom. Some travellers select to continue for one more week on roads which, because of blasting as well as construction, are now full of buses as well as jeeps. We chose the daring bus trip down the mountain, which took 13 hours teetering on a few of the sheerest cliffsides we’ve ever seen.

We all stayed at the exact same guesthouse, Lotus Guesthouse, as well as for that reason we were always satisfying up on the balcony, garden or each others spaces to have some drinks as well as chats.

The 8 of us had one “big” night out…and as well as by “big”, I mean, we were house by 11:30. The government has issued a legislation that all bars as well as restaurants should be closed by 11:00pm. even so, we had a fantastic night out playing pool, foosball, smoking sheesha pipe, drinking mixed drinks as well as listening to a Nepali cover band playing Western songs!

We were certainly getting antsy as well as prepared to leave by the two-week mark in this ultra-relaxed city. We made our method back to Kathmandu as well as spent a few days there enjoying a few of the sights that we didn’t see the very first time around. walking the old, hectic streets is home entertainment in itself as well as even just having a coffee/tea as well as people viewing is a fantastic method to spend a day.

After 5 extremely unforgettable weeks in Nepal, it was time to pack up as well as state goodbye. The people of this country were a few of the friendliest (if not the friendliest) we’ve come across in our travels.

Every person we interacted with was kind, tranquil as well as gentle; as well as in my experience, that is something extremely special as well as rare. We delighted in whatever about Nepal, however in particular, we will never fail to remember the breathtaking Himalaya Mountains as well as our experience trekking with the greatest peaks in the world. It will stay as one of the very best memories of our lives. Dhanyabad Nepal.
