After 5 excellent nights in Tbilisi, a lovely city well fit for backpackers, we hopped on one more bus as well as headed to the neighbouring country of Armenia, to the funding of Yerevan. The bus trip there was ridiculous as well as the chauffeur was a mad man. I was feeling cars and truck ill (due to his rally cars and truck driving) as well as ended up having to relocation to the front seat.
We shown up in one piece as well as set out to discover our hostel. After hiking up 110 stairs (yes, we counted them) we shown up to the top floor hostel. It was 40 degrees out so we were sweating quite great by the time we arrived! The hostel was great, had only been open for 2 months, had a communal kitchen, coffee as well as tea all day, a tv/couch lounge area as well as truly good as well as practical staff.
Our space was upstairs…turns out the a/c hadn’t been installed upstairs yet! I took one look at the little space with the sun beating in with the window as well as stated “there’s no method I’m staying in this friggin hotbox of an attic!” The owner (somehow..) might sense my issue as well as stated that we might relocation to his house next door to sleep the complying with night. So, we toughed it out for one night with a fan, cold, wet towels on us as well as lastly got some sleep around 1:00am. We transferred to his house next to the hostel as well as it was much better.

As it was so hot during the day our only choices were to go out before 10:00am or after 9:00pm. We spent the daytime in our hostel with other travellers chatting as well as drinking some Georgian red wine we had brought with us. There were some sights to see though as well as we went out a couple of nights to see some jazz music as well as have dinner.

I don’t understand if it was just the warm or what, however we didn’t discover Yerevan almost as appealing as Tbilisi. So, after only 3 nights, we packed up as well as headed back to Tbilisi for one more excellent night before boarding the long 26 hour bus trip to Istanbul, Turkey.
