It doesn’t feel like we’ve been back in Sydney all that long (probably since we haven’t!) however it’s time for us to get moving again.
We’re heading north once again back to Europe. This trip will only be a short 5 or 6 weeks though – nothing like the large 15 weeks we were right here earlier in the year.
This trip, we’ll be catching up with good friends in the UK, heading over the Italy for a wedding event (keep your eye open for next Monday’s story on that – it’s going to be quite special. We’ll likewise be seeing exactly how much more of Europe we can get to while we’re on the road.
We hope you enjoy this regular Edition.
Jim & Christina xx
We’ve got our trip to Sydney flight terminal down to a fine art now. rather than battle with traffic, we hop on a ferry, then a train as well as we’re at the terminal in about 25 minutes. It’s potentially a bit more costly than a taxi, however it’s much less stressful as well as the ferry trip is always a great method to begin a journey.
It’s a lovely day right here in Sydney. I hope London’s as friendly weather-wise. We were lucky to enjoy the heatwave England had earlier in the year. will it still be there?
We’re only a few hours from discovering out…
Hello England! as well as what a journey. We believed it would be a great concept to select a flight that would land at an appropriate hour for my mum as well as dad to pick us up. What we didn’t look at properly was the layover in Abu Dhabi. Thankfully we’ve got condition to utilize the business lounge, however 8 hours is still a long wait.
Christina handled to get some sleep in as well as I somehow did a tons of work while sipping whisky, however it still added so much time to our trip.
Anyway, we’re right here now. let the great times roll!
It’s excellent to see mum as well as dad again, as well as it’s lovely to see our good friends Clare as well as Dave, who we’ll be staying with while we’re here. however it’s even much better to see these two idiots again! Ruby as well as Flo are Clare as well as Dave’s dogs, as well as they’re the best.
As you can see, Ruby the Irish Terrier is a extremely chilled dog, whereas Flo the Springer Spaniel is a bit more intense!
Tip #1 for staying with friends: always buy them a gift to state say thanks to you for their hospitality.
Tip #2: buy them a gift that you can enjoy too! We bought Dave a paella pan the last time we were right here in June. Our very first meal with these remarkable guys: yup. Paella. exactly how great does that look?
Dave’s been honing his skills the last couple of months as well as I’m extremely happy with his progress! This poultry as well as chorizo paella (no seafood unfortunately since Dave found a new allergy to enjoy) is incredible. as well as even more incredible is exactly how quick Clare as well as Dave knocked this up.
I’d ask them for the recipe, however I’d much rather be right here as well as they make it for me!
We’ve only been in England one full day as well as we’re off again. mum as well as dad are whisking us off to the airport, however before we fly, we’ve stopped in at their favourite cafe – the Jubilee – for a hearty breakfast.
Now this is what I’m speaking about. exactly how about this for a breakfast?!
I understand Christina has a differing viewpoint to me on what constitutes the very first meal of the day – in truth we’ve written a comparison piece on what makes a great breakfast – however this makes so much sense to me. Christina is adamant that Australia makes the very best brekkies, as well as I agree that the variety of things you can have there is impressive. however there’s nothing rather like a full English fry-up done well.
After breakfast with mum as well as Dad, we drive to the flight terminal on our method to Italy. Our lovely good friends from Sweden are getting married on Lake Iseo in the north of Italy, near to Lake Como. watch this area for next week’s regular edition – I believe there are going to be some quite incredible photographs.
It’s quite difficult to state goodbye to these faces though – at least we understand we’ll be back soon. Flo is hitting me with her finest puppy dog eyes as well as Ruby, who’s been suffering a bit of detachment anxiety, is never far away from Clare these days. She’s even sleeping with her head on Clare’s chair so she’ll get up if Clare moves.
It can’t be extremely comfortable, however it a boobytrap (or perhaps that should be ‘Ruby-trap’) that works!
